Martyn Ware & LG collaboration exhibition
Reflecting on E.E. Cummings’ line “It’s always ourselves we find in the sea,” I found myself focusing on my deep thoughts and emotions when I encountered Martyn Ware’s water-themed artwork. While considering how to create something that could inspire people both visually and gastronomically as a chef at an art exhibition, I drew inspiration from Martyn Ware’s work and LG MoodUp to conceptualize my own version of a popsicle.
I connected the sensation of smooth coolness that can be felt on the tongue and lips with the sea flavors I often enjoyed growing up, incorporating elements like sea-like bluish colors, bubbles, seaweed, and seashells. Through layering flavors from each component, I created an interesting combination. The shape of the popsicle was inspired by Martyn Ware’s conceptual sculpture, and since it revolves around the themes of water and the sea, I chose a liquid form that delivers taste rapidly.
My popsicle creation features the following flavors:
– Grilled Seaweed over an open flame
– Butterfly Pea flower & honey infusion
– Lemon verbena jelly
– Squid ink tuile (bubble, seaweed, seashell shapes)
Taste is not just about flavor; it engages all senses, including sight and smell, and even emotions. This illustrates the combination of sensibility and rationality in art. Through this collaboration, I hope people can fully immerse themselves in Martyn’s world while experiencing all five senses awakened by the most sociable of sensations: taste.
Water will connect us all.

GASTROARTIST [ GASTRONOMY + ARTIST ]

My journey with food began by exploring the intricate molecular structures of ingredients under a microscope. With a foundation in nutrition, my perspective soon transformed as I ventured into the captivating world of food styling, seen through the lens of a camera. As my mind and body matured, my vision naturally shifted toward deeper connections with the world around me. Through my role as a chef—an artist of taste, the most sociable of the senses—I find myself harmonizing with a diverse array of people. After over a decade of humbly traversing the path of a chef, I now find joy in weaving all my past experiences into a single plate, creating moments that resonate deeply and touch the hearts of those I serve.
